In September 2007, Wesley Brown opened his heart and home to the young men of his community by founding Young Men Enlightening Younger Men (YMEYM). YMEYM is a mentoring, tutoring, and community service program. Its mission is to show the young men in the community that there is a bigger and brighter future ahead of them with unlimited possibilities.
YMEYM mentors at-risk youth encouraging them to stay in school, to do the best they can in school and in extracurricular activities, to respect themselves and each other, and to talk out any conflicts instead of resorting to violence. From 2007 to present, all of the mentors have committed much of their personal time and finances to forming this organization.
We ask you to support the scholarship fund to maintain the integrity and longevity of Wesley Brown’s vision of YMEYM.
“Too often young men underestimate their own capabilities and greatness. It is our
responsibility to step up to the plate and make a positive change. One young man
at a time.”
